The Data Protection Act is helpful for data security in healthcare to give sanctions to someone who breaches the data. Breaching information is a severe problem that could lead to trauma in the individual. (“Data Security in the Healthcare Sector, 2016”)

It is amazing that there is an application that uses an application to help the patient reminded like the Nova Translational Medicine Institute which blends the data information of the patient and healthcare. This will help the patients to receive an alert on what they should do and expect in their health (Data-Driven Healthcare: It’s Personal | Aaron Black | TEDxTysons, 2016).

Consent is particularly important in everything we do, especially in health care. This gives the management the power to perform a service with consent whether to stop or continue the procedure. (Data Privacy and Consent | Fred Cate | TEDxIndianaUniversity, 2020).

eHospital Systems is a customizable, comprehensive, and integrated Hospital Management System designed to manage all hospital operations. eHospital system is an electronic system that is tailored to patients. The patient can make a schedule and ask for a specific doctor or area in the hospital. This will help the nurses or other healthcare members to find information about the patient. Also, it is helpful to see the intervention that must be done for the patient (“Hospital Management System - eHospital Systems - Short Overview”).

What is the importance of ensuring Laws are in place to make sure that the client will receive optimum care in this technology-led world?

Technology has been beneficial to everyone, especially in healthcare settings. However, it must be sure that every technology that will be used by the client must have gone thorough checking for the safeness and effectiveness of the product. Implementing the law is necessary to prevent having low-quality products, spreading fake defective products, and harming the patient.

 

 The intellectual property code of the Philippines is the law that is established to protect inventors and public welfare. With this, the consumer will receive better care. All innovative technology is ensured that it has undergone patent, copyright, and trademark.

For any community to flourish and be successful, making and enforcing rules is crucial. A society can create acceptable behavioral standards by enacting laws.   The legislation would be meaningless if it wasn't followed up with enforcement. People would learn they could do whatever they wanted since there would be no repercussions. 

 

For example, the Electronic Health Record is one of the technologies that is used in the hospital. I am going to mention all the advantages of EHR.

Advantages of EHR to Healthcare providers:

• Patient records can be conveniently accessed from inpatient and distant areas for more organized, quality treatment. 
•  Improvements in the diagnostic and therapeutic alert systems, notifications, and advanced analytics, as well as health records 
• Optimize patient care by focusing on personal security, accuracy, patient-contentedness, cooperation, health teaching, promptness, efficiency, and justice. 
  

Advantages of EHR to the patient:

• The efficiency of e - prescribing sent to pharmacies 
• less repetition of forms during each initial appointment 
• By encouraging preventative medicine, improving the coordination of healthcare services, and reducing waste and unnecessary tests, we can significantly improve efficiency and reduce the cost of healthcare. 

 

The Republic Act No, 8791 or known as the "Electronic Commerce Act of 200" as well. This Law recognizes the use of electronic commercial and non-commercial operations and electronic documents; governs penalties for infringement of protected material properties through the use of communication systems and for data theft of computer software; and mandates grounds for the legal responsibility of service providers. This makes sure that all the data in the Electronic Health Record are safe as it is protected by this law.
